“Grief is just love with no place to go”
This page is dedicated to my dog who inspired me to start painting again, and to everyone who has lost or is grieving a beloved pet. I lost Pluto on 10/17/25. He was a twelve-year-old Doberman that my husband and I adopted from a shelter when he was just a puppy. He was a cuddly, gentle giant who was joyful and affectionate every day of his life. He had a way of winning over anyone who was even slightly nervous around Dobermans, including my own mother. He was one of the greatest dogs I have ever known.
When he passed, I wanted to avoid falling into the same deep sadness I experienced when my heart dog, Remy, passed in May of 2021. I needed something meaningful, something that would help me work through my grief, something that could help others, and something I believe Pluto would be proud of.
So I picked up painting again. I posted on TikTok asking people to share photos of their pets so I could paint them free of charge. I am currently working through November for this project and plan to complete eight to ten free paintings. It is my way of supporting others who are navigating this same kind of loss.
